To celebrate our anniversary, we welcome Shaun J. Wright, Ariel Zetina, and LA-4A to Chinotto (and Scotia back again!) for club remixes of “Gimme” by founder Whitney Weiss. Weiss wrote “Gimme” in the summer of 2023 on the same day she emailed Naro about designing a logo for Chinotto Records. Three years later, here we are with four remixes designed for big rooms and bigger speakers.

Fresh off the success of her Lithophonix EP on Chinotto Records, Hudson Valley’s high priestess of acid Scotia kicks things off with her beloved 303 for a Funemployment Remix. It takes the original vocal to soaring new heights on a groove that grows without peaking. All sustain no release, it will win your most discerning dancers over.

Next, selective international DJ, producer, and engineer to the stars LA-4A (New York) made time to do the smart techno he does so well with thundering percussions and a moodier take on asking for money via his Unethical Consumption Remix. LA-4A does all the masters for Chinotto, making this release even more of a family affair.

After that, Shaun J. Wright takes the freestyle influence on “Gimme” to a fun conclusion. A seasoned producer, Berghain regular, and iconic Hercules & Love Affair singer whose vocal talents and DJ chops have whisked them around the world multiple times, Shaun was one of the first people to give Whitney feedback on including vocals in production work as well as DJ sets. Shaun’s Gimme the Coins Remix adds new vocals and a new hook, rich with melody and anchored by a funky little beat.

Closing out the EP, Chicago-based producer, DJ, and Smartbar resident Ariel Zetina with something hypnotic and heavy that you might call techno. Ariel’s “Diva Down” on Nervous comp Full Tilt Carry Vol. 2 is bunkmates with Whitney’s song “Whatever” and the two share roots in Duval County. Driving and great for late night, Zetina’s remix of “Gimme” hits big in her signature style. Chinotto is excited to release more music from Ariel Zetina in 2027!

Just like our favorite maxi-singles, the two last tracks on Gimme Remixes give producers and DJs some tools to work with. Anyone who wants a vocal that hasn’t been sampled to bits already now has a Cashapella to play with, while the “Gimme Beats” are there for all manners of chopping, extending, and sampling.
